About Me

Warming up for a fight in Cardiff, Dec 2017

Welcome to my exercise physiology blog! An informal educational service offering support to athletes, coaches and the average Joe who wants to develop their understanding of exercise science so that they may apply it to their own training . My intention for this website is to be as authentic as possible in portraying who I am, what I do and how I can help you.

My interest in physical performance began at a young age with a keen interest in Cricket, where I represented Lancashire County Cricket Club as a junior. I then took an interest in boxing boxing in my late teens, representing my University.

More recently however, my interests have shifted towards academia, with my intention being to share knowledge with others. Hence, starting a blog appears to be the obvious initial step in reaching out to a wider audience.

I completed my Undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences at the University of Exeter, graduating with first class honours before working in London as a well-being advisor and Personal Trainer. Currently, I am completing a masters degree at Loughborough University, where I also work as a performance analyst with the cricket team! Exciting times.

My goal for this blog is to take complex scientific topics in the area of exercise science and relay them to an audience who may be interested, but unable to understand the jargon!
